The Research I've concluded with on Jesus' reality.
Today I researched on the historical evidence for the reality of Yeshua, or Jesus. It may be a hard question, but in short, it's a simple answer. Yes. Here's why...
My Research
“Be quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to anger”
Historical evidence point to outside unbiased accounts of Jesus. According to Javier Yanes, the first account was in a letter from Saint Paul 20 or so years after his death. While Saint Paul didn't know Jesus personally, a New Testament specialist confirmed that not only did Saint Paul know the disciples, but the siblings of Jesus as well. Jesus is also mentioned by Jewish and Roman historians during his lifespan and after. To put that into perspective. King Arthur wasn't even mentioned around his lifetime. Nevertheless, it took 300 to 400 years for historians to actually mention him after his own death. The historical accounts, and evidence aren't limited to folklore nor were mere fables as was King Arthur.
The New Testament gospels (a good news or message) were written 40 years after his death by Paul the apostle and some of the other 12 disciples. The letters contained in them were written 20 years after. The historical events in these letters line of with other historical accounts at that time. Not only that, but there's also historians who wrote of the 500+ eyewitnesses that saw Jesus the day he resurrected. Lee Strobel, a huge atheist back in the 70's was even able to confirm this parallel to the letters of Paul. In Conclusion. Yes. Jesus Was definitely real. Now the real question is... Did Jesus actually die on the cross and rise or was he just a really spiritual guru?
The Process
This research was a doozy, but it was worth it. For this blog I had to watch a few Cross Examined college videos and research a bit into Frank Turek's debates. I also heavily read some articles from History.com and Javier Yanes. Jesus is no joke and I want to make sue I get things right and I'm telling the truth. I enjoyed researching for today, however the plan for next time is to go much deeper and connect Jesus to the Bible and Christianity.
